Acne

From occasional breakouts to cystic acne that scars, acne responds best to a plan matched to its actual cause — hormonal, bacterial, or a mix. We treat the pattern, not just the pimple.

  • Diagnosis first, then a plan

Acne is rarely one thing. Dr. Chopade starts every consult by mapping your specific pattern — where breakouts cluster, how they behave around your cycle or stress, and what's already been tried — before recommending a plan.

How we treat acne at Skin Therapeutics

Treatment may combine topical prescriptions, oral therapy where appropriate, and in-clinic procedures like chemical peels or laser to calm active inflammation and reduce future scarring risk. The goal isn't just clearing today's breakout — it's changing the pattern that keeps producing them.

For hormonal acne, that can mean investigating the driver (cycle-related flares, PCOS) rather than endlessly rotating creams. For inflammatory or cystic acne, it usually means acting early and decisively, because deep breakouts are the ones that scar. And if years of over-the-counter products have left your skin barrier irritated, the plan starts by repairing that before adding stronger actives.

What to expect at your first consultation

Expect questions before prescriptions: how long you've had breakouts, what they look like when they flare, what you're currently using, and what has and hasn't worked. Dr. Chopade examines your skin, explains what type of acne you actually have, and walks you through a written plan — typically a home routine plus, where useful, in-clinic sessions. You'll leave knowing what to expect in the first six weeks and when to come back for review.

Questions about acne

Will my acne scar if I don't treat it?

Inflammatory acne — especially cystic or nodular breakouts — carries a real risk of scarring the longer it goes untreated. Early, targeted treatment is the best way to protect your skin.

Is acne just a teenage problem?

No. A significant share of our acne patients are adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, often dealing with hormonal or stress-related breakouts that need a different approach than teenage acne.

How soon will I see results?

Most patients notice fewer new breakouts within 4–6 weeks of starting a personalised plan, with continued improvement over 3 months as inflammation settles.
