Effective laser hair removal comes down to correctly matching laser settings to your skin tone and hair type — done wrong, it's ineffective or unsafe. Dr. Chopade calibrates every treatment plan individually, starting with a patch test before committing to a full course.
Why sessions are spaced the way they are
Lasers only disable hair follicles in their active growth phase, and at any moment only a fraction of your hair is in it. Sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart to catch successive waves of growth — which is why a single session always underwhelms and a completed course doesn't. Between sessions you can shave, but waxing and plucking are paused, since the laser needs the root present to work.
What to expect during and after
Each pulse feels like a brief snap against the skin, softened by built-in cooling. Sessions run from a few minutes for the upper lip to under an hour for larger areas. Mild redness for a few hours is normal; strict sun protection on treated areas is the one aftercare rule that genuinely matters.
Honest expectations
"Removal" is really long-term reduction: after a full course, most patients see the large majority of coarse hair gone, with regrowth finer and sparser. Occasional maintenance sessions keep it that way. Very light, grey, or fine vellus hair responds poorly to laser — if that's your hair type, you'll be told honestly at the consultation rather than sold a course.
